FINALIZACIÓN DE PRÓRROGAS DE CERTIFICADOS DE EXISTENCIA.

Estimados, Se pone en conocimeinto de todos ustedes que el Banco de Previsión Social (BPS), la Caja Bancaria, la Caja Notarial y la Caja Policial informaron haber dispuesto no continuar prorrogando la validez de sus certificados de existencia desde marzo de 2022.

 Por lo expresado, corresponde volver a tramitar dichos certificados ante los Consulados. En este sentido se agradece, a todas aquellas personas que necesiten tramitar certificado de existencia comunicarse con esta Sección Consular al correo electrónico urucanada@mrree.gub.uy  o al teléfono 6132342727 a fin de coordinar cita para la realización del trámite.
Visa information
Canadian passport holders do not need a visa to enter Uruguay.

Exceptions: diplomatic, service and official passports need a visa to enter Uruguay. Canadian residents with passports from their country of origin must contact the Consular Section for further information.

Document Legalization: For documents to have legal status in Uruguay, they must be legalized by the Consular Section in accordance with the following procedure:

1-  An original or a notarized copy of each document must first be legalized by a provincial government office of signatures, or by the:

Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada. Authentication and Service of Documents Division (JLAC) , 125 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A OG2.

2- Upon legalization by a Canadian government authority, the document(s) must be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Uruguay in Canada.

3- Payments can be made by e-transfer, money order or cheque, payable to Embassy of Uruguay.

4- Once in Uruguay, the document must then be legalized at the Department of Foreign Affairs, and translated if not in Spanish.

*Please be advised in order to obtain the legalization fee the Consular Section must have access to the document.
